Jason Robert Brooks

Jason Robert Brooks “Brooksy” Age 45, of Gardner, IL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at his home. Born on June 19, 1979, in Morris, IL to Neal Brooks and Cynthia Daniels. He was an avid hunter and expert shooter. He managed the Mazonia Hunt Club for many years. He was enthusiastic about mentoring youth hunters and introduced scores of young men and women to the sport. He loved fishing with friends, and he especially loved waterfowl and predator hunting. Jason was employed by Dibble Trucking in Gardner and was a parts Manager and data processor. Surviving are his children, Wyatt, Tess, and Carlie Brooks all of South Wilmington, IL; father, Neal (Holly) Brooks of Ottawa, IL; mother, Cynthia (Roger) Bossler of Rio Rancho, NM; sisters, Heather (Chuck) Harvey of South Wilmington, Jennifer Brooks of Braceville, IL, Katie (Kevin) Campbell Mengoni of Braceville, IL, and Cera Kingston of Symmerton, IL; grandmother, JoAnn Daniels of Coal City, IL; and nieces and nephews, Debora, Cora, Malea, Ronan, Orrin, Lazarus, Eleanor, Morgan and Flynn. He has several cousins he grew up with, now living across the US. Preceding him in death was his maternal grandfather, Bill Daniels and paternal grandparents, Evelyn and Ralph Brooks. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the R. W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday March 28, 2025, from 4-7 PM. A special guest, Daniel Jerbi (Jason’s high school principal) will deliver the eulogy at approximately 6:45 PM and we encourage you to listen to this uplifting message. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Gardner American Legion from 10 AM until 12 noon. There will be a luncheon immediately after the eulogy and those that want to honor Jason’s memory with their own stories. A special guest, Jeff Foiles (Two-time world champion duck and goose caller) will deliver the eulogy at approximately 11:45 AM. Jeff is a long-time friend of Jason and Mazonia Hunt Club, who shared his passion for waterfowl hunting and the common bond that touched both of their lives. Memorial donations can be made to the Family of Jason Brooks College Education Fund, (care of Wyatt Brooks) or South Wilmington VFD
