Jose “Jessie” De Jesus Morfin Age 69, of Godley, IL, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. Born March 21, 1957, in Mexico, Jessie was the son of Guadalupe and Margarita (née Partida) Morfin. He married the love of his life, Melinda DeLeon, and together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage. Their life together was built on love, devotion, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to family. Jessie was a very talented and hardworking man who dedicated over 40 years to Railway and Industrial Service in Crest Hill, IL, where he worked in many positions throughout the years, including welding and forklift driving. Truly multi-talented, Jessie took great pride in his work and was known for his incredible work ethic and determination. Sleeping in was never for him. He was always working, always staying busy, and always putting his mind to whatever needed to be done. If something needed fixing or figuring out, Jessie found a way to get it done while always taking care of the things that mattered most to him. In his younger years, Jessie loved hunting and throughout his life he enjoyed all types of yard work and took pride in keeping things looking nice. He also had a beautiful singing voice and was a talented singer. Family gatherings were never complete without everyone asking Jessie to sing, creating memories his loved ones will forever cherish. Above all else, Jessie was a true family man whose greatest joy in life came from being surrounded by the people he loved most. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who adored his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. Whether he was helping someone, spending time with family, or simply making sure everything around him was taken care of, Jessie’s family was always at the center of his heart. The time he shared with those he loved meant everything to him, and his family will forever hold close the love, guidance, devotion, and hardworking example he gave throughout his life. Survived by his loving wife, Melinda Morfin; his children, Alejandro Morfin, Melissa (Kenny Schaefer) Morfin, Christal (Eric Perry) Morfin, and Adam Morfin; his cherished grandchildren, Charlette Minerva Garrelts, Selena Hoffman, and Sakura Hoffman; his sisters, Ermila Del Rio and Chyo Perez; his brother, Chelo Morfin; his close nieces, Sylvia (Jorge) Del Toro and Maria (Francisco Victor Gutierrez) Morfin; as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Margarita Morfin; and five siblings, Maria, Indelencio, Serafin, Juanita, and Santos. Per Jessie’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
