Rosalie L. Stava

Rosalie L. Stava 76 of Wilmington, IL. Passed away to be with the Lord on December 30, 2024, while fighting stage IV cancer. Born in Chicago, IL on March 4, 1948. Mother to three children Joseph (Marypat), Jason (Laura), Joellen (Mike). Grandmother to Elizabeth (Jeff) and Nicholas. Great-Grandmother to Grace & Matthew. Life as we knew it, will never be the same. Losing you is a wound that will never heal. Everyone that she met loved her. Not just a mother, Grandma and Great-Grandma but also a bonus Mom/Grandma to many. We lost our mother, but heaven gained an angel. Joellen/Mike. Rosie’s greatest joy in her life was nurturing her children. The love, caring, and kindness of her family, friends and the Lord has kept her going through not only cancer treatments, but in life as well Rosie loved crocheting, knitting, and crafting, but most of all she loved gardening both vegetables and flowers. She thrived when her garden flourished. While raising her children she discovered her love for camping, fishing, and hunting. Anyone that knew her knows she did thing’s from the heart for others, never for herself. Joe, Marypat. It is very hard to say goodbye to Rosie she was such a huge part in our lives and our hearts. Her presence touched everyone she encountered in a heartfelt way. Rosie loved gardening and hers was beautiful. I think it was her sanctuary with God. We will always cherish our time together and wisdom we learned from our family rock, Rosie. Our family game nights, vacation trips and everyday spending time together whether it was fishing, shopping, watching movies or cooking are etched in our hearts. Rosie will forever be a light in our lives loved and truly missed. Jason, Laura, and Nicholas Our Grandma/Grammie was one of a kind, the best there was. All the memories we have, the values and lessons taught, will be etched in our innermost being, and something we will carry with us and cherish forever. Of all the things she ever taught us was to always put God first. To enjoy and appreciate the gift of today and everyday that he has entrusted us with. To trust in him in any and every circumstance, and every season of life. She truly blessed every life she touched and will be deeply missed. Her memory is one we will carry with us all the days of our life. Elizabeth, Jeff, Grace and Matthew. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial visitation will be held at R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, January 9, 2025 beginning at 4:00 until time of memorial service beginning at 7:00 pm.
