Shannon Rae Blottiaux

Shannon Rae Blottiaux Age 56 of Custer Park, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. She was born April 10, 1969, in Joliet, IL, to William and Jennifer (née Boswell) Baxter. On June 25, 1988, Shannon married Mike Blottiaux at Custer Park Baptist Church. Shannon was a devoted wife, mother, and grammy who lovingly raised her son and grandson. She dedicated her time mentoring others in creating memories with her scrapbooking family. She loved traveling and making memories wherever she went. She was known for taking care of others, especially her mother, even throughout her own eleven-year cancer battle, and she never missed an opportunity to help someone. She was a true partner in life, always a giver and never a taker. Shannon was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dwight. She is survived by her husband, Mike; her son, Brandon Blottiaux of Custer Park; and her Grandson, Kannan Blottiaux. Also surviving are her sister, Angela (Todd) Gauthier of Sarasota, FL; her brothers, Alex (Gina) Baxter of Braidwood, IL, and Jason Baxter of Odell, IL; her sister-in-law, Melinda Favre of Quincy, IL; and her brothers-in-law, Bill Alderson of Coal City, IL, and Bob (Wanda) Alderson of Custer Park, IL. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Clarence “Slats” and Ferena Blottiaux; her sister-in-law, Joyce Alderson; brother-in-law, Steve Favre, and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Filbrandt. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory in Braidwood, IL. Funeral services will follow the next day, Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Daniel Woodward officiating. Interment will take place immediately after the service at Oaklawn Cemetery in Dwight, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Midwest Christian Boys Football Camp, a ministry of First Baptist Church of Dwight.
