Alice Faye Faletti

December 20, 1940 - January 17, 2022

Age 81, of Wilmington, IL passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, IL. Born December 20, 1940 in Kankakee, IL, the daughter of Dora and Frank Lestina. Alice lived in Braidwood most of her life, graduating from Reed-Custer High School with the class of 1958. She also graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1962 and received a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Vanderbilt University in the 1990’s. She taught music and choir for the Braidwood School District for forty years. After retirement from Reed-Custer she worked at the Braidwood Library for several years. Over her lifetime she put on many musical and religious programs in Braidwood. She sang and played the organ for numerous funerals and wedding celebrations. She enjoyed playing the organ every Sunday for Immaculate Conception Church and the First Presbyterian church for many years. Alice was involved in many activities over her lifetime. She sang and danced with “New People”. She enjoyed many fun activities with her Red Hat friends and Ripe Tomatoes. Alice volunteered for many different groups such as; Religious education, Family Care, Vacation Bible School, and Meals on Wheels. Preceding her in death were her parents Dora, and Frank; and husband, Bernard “Barney” Faletti, Sr., (2/13/2017), whom she married August 18, 1962. Surviving are her son, Bernard “Barney” (Heather) Faletti, Jr. of Braidwood; three grandchildren, Meghan and Michael Faletti and Alexis (nee Bresley) Miller; two brothers, Edward Lestina of Braidwood and Jim (Vicki) Lestina of WY; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families; brother-in-law, Mike (Linda) Faletti of Braidwood; sister-in-law, Rose (Elmer) Fick of Aurora, IL; three additional children she and Barney, Sr. had the pleasure of raising, Mike Cairns, Carol Huston, and Robert Cairns; special friend, Hank; and many other dear close friends Funeral services for Alice will be private. A public Memorial Mass and celebration of life will be held at later date. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Braidwood.
