Bessie Frances DiGiusto Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Age 95, of Braidwood, IL passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet, IL. Born February 10, 1916 in Braidwood to the late John and Bessie (nee Kral) Lestina. Member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood and the Czechoslovak Society of America in Oak Brook, IL. Bessie retired from the Joliet and Reed-Custer School Districts after numerous years of employment. Surviving are her daughter, Elaine “Lainie” DiGiusto of Braidwood; three grandchildren, Maria (Rick) Urban, Cheryl (Dan) Koslowski, and Eugene (Val) Lestina; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, and Nick Urban, Kristen and Melissa Koslowski, Brandon and Bryn Lestina; brother, George Lestina of Braidwood; daughter-in-law, Sharon Lestina of Braidwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Philip DiGiusto, whom she married October 6, 1951 in Joliet; her son, Everette “Gene” Lestina; four brothers, John “Jack”, Joe, Fred “Lefty”, and Frank “Porkey” Lestina; and two sisters, Agnes Novy and Eleanor Fleishman. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Monday, February 13, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. to the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Show Reddy Allam officiating. The vocalist was Carol Anger and the organist was Janine Lardi. The pallbearers were, Rick Urban, Dan Koslowski, Eugene Lestina, Jim Fleishman, Joe Lestina, and Kent Alan Keeley. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Braidwood, IL. Visitation Sunday, February 12 from 3-7 p.m.
