Clarence Hnetkovsky

Age 89, of Coal City, IL passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL. Born August 14, 1925 in Neillsville, WI to the late Frank and Ellen (nee Jonkel) Hnetkovsky. Veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1943-1946 during World War II. He then married Maxine Truffa at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington, IL. He was employed at the Joliet Arsenal for thirty years, transferring to the US Army Material Command in Rock Island, IL for ten years. He retired January 1, 1984 after forty years of employment. Member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City, Braidwood Knights of Columbus Post # 1574 since 1960, Coal City American Legion, and the USS LSM-LSMR Association in Saegertown, PA. Surviving are his daughter, Jeanne Hnetkovsky of Bloomington, IL; one grandson, John (Jami) Broucek, IV of Chicago, IL; brother, John Hnetkovsky, his best friend, Helen Veronda of Diamond, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were the love of his life, Maxine; beloved daughter, Donna Broucek; two brothers, Frank and Edward Hnetkovsky; and one sister, Florence Trout. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd. & Crematory, Braidwood Chapel, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, July 8 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, Braceville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Braidwood Knights of Columbus Post # 1574, or donor’s choice would be appreciated.
