Age 94, of Coal City, IL, formerly of Braidwood, IL and Mountain Home, AR, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Heritage Manor in Dwight, IL. Born March 23, 1916 in Gardner, IL to the late Thomas and Anna (nee Hader) Allen. Eva was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood and the St. Peter The Fisherman in Mountain Home, AR. Surviving were one son, Thomas (June) Pomatto of Kenosha, WI; one daughter, Shirley (Terry) Burns of Coal City, IL; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one step-daughter-in-law, Shirley Pomatto of Unionville, MO; one brother, Elwyn Allen of Plainfield, IL; one sister-in-law, Jessie Allen of Joliet, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her first husband, Lawrence John Pomatto; her second husband, Charles Jiskra; step-son, Lawrence John Pomatto, Jr.; three brothers, Russell Allen, Glen Allen and Ambrose Allen; and four sisters, Inez Romano, Vanira Lewis, Beulah Picciolo, and Alva Kaveney. Funeral services were at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation two hours preceding services. Rev. Danilo Soriano officiated. Terryn Pomatto was the vocalist. June Pomatto was the organist. The pallbearers were Lori Berkey, Lisa Burns, Steven Burns, Terryn Pomatto, Allen Kaveney, and Terry Burns. Interment was in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, IL.
