James William Plough

Age 83, of Diamond, IL passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by his beloved family. Born November 9, 1931 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Floyd and Ruby Pearl (nee Lucas) Plough. Retired veteran of the United States Navy, having served in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. After retirement, he worked as an analyst at Walt Disney World in Florida. He was a member of the VFW Post #1336 in Coal City, IL. James was a kind, gentle loving man who devoted his life to his family and was an avid reader of western novels, especially Lewis L’Amour novels. Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Patricia (nee Evans) Plough of Diamond, whom he married November 13, 1954 in Bridgeport, IL; three daughters, Teresa (Robert) Kernc of Diamond, Janeen (Kevin) LeToureau of Orlando, FL, and Angela (Steve Hughes) Hayes of Davenport, IA; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Marv) Wawerski, Dawn (Tim Siesener) Bergklint, Jillian (Rick Robertson) Fredericks, Kenneth Briley, Jr., Jennifer (Jeff) Kramer, Alicia Brown, William (Molly) Hayes, Rebecca Hayes, and Blake Hughes; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his brother and sister; and son-in-law, Monty Hayes. Funeral services will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd. & Crematory, Braidwood Chapel, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation two hours preceding services. Interment with military honors will be at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be directed to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Wounded Warriors Project.
