Age 62, of Coal City, IL passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL. Born January 21, 1959 in Berwyn, IL to the late Joseph and Lillian (nee Lysaka) Chalupa. Joseph graduated from Hinsdale South High School. He formerly drove a school bus for special needs children for the Willow Springs school district. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood and was also active with the Moravsky Den in Lemont, IL where he showed off traditional Czech dancing and singing. Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and had a knack for creating wildlife decorations. Surviving are his dear wife of twenty five years, Maria (nee Kedzierski) Chalupa of Coal City, whom he married August 3, 1996 in North Riverside, IL; sister, Frances (Bob) Henry of Elgin, IL; and nieces and nephews, Megan, Luke, Mason, Annabelle, Evan, Jacob, Jordan, Kylee, Kaitlyn, Kristan, and Nikole Marie. Visitation for Joseph will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Friday, January 7, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. to the Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name to the United Moravian Societies: 166 N.
