Age 95, of South Wilmington, IL, passed away November 21, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet, IL. Born April 29, 1916 in South Wilmington to the late Barto and Pauline (nee Ferrari) Dinelli. Veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII. Louis retired from the Federal Paper Board in Morris, IL and was formerly the Mayor of South Wilmington. Member of the VFW Post #1740 in South Wilmington. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving were his son and daughter-in-law, James and Patricia Dinelli of Dwight, IL; three grandchildren, Michael (Tami) Dinelli of South Wilmington, Katie (Andrew) Horton of Larson, WI, and Anne Marie Dinelli of Oswego, IL; three great-grandchildren, Adam Dinelli, Anthony Dinelli, and Isabella Dinelli; two step great-grandchildren, Charles Horan and Lindsay Horan; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Dinelli and Jennie Suddick, both of South Wilmington, and Mary Shugart of Morris, IL. Preceding him in death was his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Shugart), whom he married May 24, 1941 in Mayfield, KY; three brothers, Peter Dinelli, Albert Dinelli, and Mario Dinelli; three sisters, Amelia Residori, Natalie Lardi, and one in infancy; and special friend, Fran Residori. Funeral services were from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., South Wilmington Chapel, Monday, November 28, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in South Wilmington for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Rev. John Hornicak officiated. Judy McElroy was the organist. Interment with military honor’s was in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. The pallbearers were Louis Dinelli, Phil Dinelli, Mark Dinelli, Norm Lardi, Ken Lardi, and Bob Suddick. The visitation was Sunday, November 27, from 3-7 p.m.
