Loyla L. Galanos

Age 76, of Coal City, IL passed away peacefully Thursday, June 24, 2021 at The Parc Nursing Home in Joliet, IL. Born February 12, 1945 in Farragut, ID to the late Robert and Margaret (nee Clare) Shaver. She graduated from Lockport High School with the class of 1963. Loyla was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City. She enjoyed quilting and absolutely adored the many dogs she had over the years. Loyla cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, William Galanos of Coal City, April (Jim) Bumpous of Diamond, IL, Engelo (Tina) Galanos of Goose Lake, and Lisa Tomko of Plainfield, IL; seven grandchildren, Katie and Chey Bumpous, Eric, AJ, and Dalton, Sr. Galanos, Faith and Abbi Lowman; two great-grandchildren, Bella and Dalton, Jr. Galanos; sister, Ina Madigan of MI; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families; and her beloved four-legged companion, Peanutbear. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Nick Galanos whom she married February 6, 1973 in Joliet; her twin sister, Lois (Marty) Tiemann; and two brothers, Robert (Bonnie) Shaver, Jr. and Patrick, Sr. (Rita) Shaver. Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of her life will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Lightways Hospice or The Parc at Joliet would be appreciated.
