Michael J. Jett Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Age 75, of South Wilmington, IL passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL. Born May 27, 1945 in Baltimore, MD to the late Dick M. and Cecelia Rita (nee Ryan) Jett. Veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1964-1968. Mike was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, South Wilmington Fire Department, and he also served on the board of the South Wilmington Fireman’s Club. He retired from Electra Motors in LaGrange on July 1, 1993 after thirty years of employment. Mike enjoyed fishing, gambling trips, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Rosemary (nee Kroll) Jett of South Wilmington, whom he married May 21, 1966 in South Wilmington; three children, Michele (Troy) Scholes, Melissa Jensen, and Christopher (Jenny) Jett; six grandchildren, Justin Jett, Lucas (Paige) Jett, Samantha Schneider, Brett Jensen, Megan Jett, and Cheyenne Jett; two great-grandchildren, Zoey Jett and Kaysen Schneider; two brothers, Dick (Penny) Jett and Edward (Cathy) Jett; one sister, Donna Payne; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Charolette (Duane) Brown and Karen Story; and one brother, Robert Jett. Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be from the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home & Crematory, Braidwood, Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. All attendees are required to wear face coverings, follow social distancing guidelines, due to the capacity requirements please be brief with your condolences to allow other guests to pay their final respects. Private interment will follow at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
