Veronica "Fronie" Tyler

Veronica Tyler, 101, of Gassville, AR, formerly of Braceville, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in Mountain Home, AR. She was born February 12, 1909 in Coal City, IL to the late Frank and Louise Moarn. She attended Coal City schools, later moving to Joliet, where she completed high school. On August 15, 1926, she married William Tyler of Braceville. Together they lived in Hinsdale, IL where she worked at Tyler General Merchandise Store and kept books for Baxter Laundry Service. She moved to Braceville in 1940 and lived there for 67 years until moving to Mt. Home, AR, with her daughter, in 2005. Veronica was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed baking (cookies), gardening, canning and sewing. Noted for her beautiful penmanship, she kept many of the records for the Braceville Methodist Church. She was a member of the Home Extension and Grundy County Senior Center for many years. Surviving were her daughter, Dorothy Meyer; two sons, William of Gardner and Donald (Millie) of Chapin, S.C.; six grandchildren, Virgil (Brenda) Birchard, Vicky Birchard, Debra (Jeff) Thompson, Donna (Norman) Lardi, Diane Romanetto, and Tim (Angie) Tyler; fourteen great grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; sister, Marie Briddick; and step-brother, Ed Hackbarth. Cremation rites were accorded. Graveside services were Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Andrea Boggs officiaing. Inurnment was in Braceville Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, IL.
